Kenneth Pushkin—The Story

What can you say about Kenneth? He was the kid next door at Woodstock.
Spent the summer of '69 hitching from one rock festival to the next. Traveled
the country, the world. Lived with the Yupiq Eskimos in the Bering Sea off and
on for 20 years, studying their ancient culture. His Eskimo name is
Kurlimahsuk Yuperuq which means 'Curly Headed Crazy Man'. Travelled to
Russia across the Bering Sea in the early 90's, and on to Moscow and St.
Petersburg where he was embraced by the noble Pushkin family - becoming
known in Russia as the 'American Pushkin'. Promoting international goodwill
as a cultural diplomat, Kenneth founded the International Pushkin Charity
Fund in Moscow and the Pushkin Gallery in Santa Fe.

A musician, songwriter and poet all of his life, Kenneth has had any number of
bands in different configurations and styles with names such as Blue Sky
Highway, Living Rumours, Tundra (the Eskimo band), etc., etc. A traveling
harp player and troubadour, he jammed the blues harp with the Grateful Dead
and the Allman Brothers. His musical influences are primarily Blues, Rock,
and Jazz, but are varied and without limits. Kenneth has been known to say,
"If it's good, I like it." Certainly, that applies to music and to all things in life.
